How It Works Wendy's restaurants and their customers raise funds for the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption through the coin canisters on Wendy's restaurant counters, golf tournaments and special promotions. The Foundation uses those funds to award grants to local agencies, which in turn hire skilled adoption recruiters. These recruiters dedicate 100 percent of their time to aggressive child-focused recruitment targeted exclusively on placing children from the foster case system in loving, adoptive families in their communities. Vision Every child will have a permanent home and a loving family.  Mission Dramatically increase the number of adoptions of children from foster care in North America.
